Pheasants Forever Chapters in the Seven Pheasant States

Somewhere in your county there’s a Legion hall with a gun raffle on one table, a silent auction on another, and a crew of volunteers who spent all summer planting food plots and native grass so the birds you chase in November have a place to nest. That’s a Pheasants Forever chapter. It’s also the best place in farm country to find out which landowner might say yes, which dog trainer is worth the drive, and who still has a youth hunt slot open.

This page lists every local Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapter in South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana. That’s 345 chapters. Each one shows the contact, any posted meetings, and any upcoming banquets, all pulled from Pheasants Forever’s own Find a Chapter directory and events calendar.

How to read this page

• Chapter: the name and number PF uses. Most are named for a county. Some cover a region or a college campus, and some are Women on the Wing chapters.
• Type: PF (Pheasants Forever), QF (Quail Forever), or a PF/QF combination, as PF labels it.
• Town: taken only from the chapter’s posted PF events. A chapter with no events gets TBD. Its name usually tells you the county.
• Contact / Email: the volunteer PF lists for that chapter. We wrote the emails as name [at] domain to keep scrapers out of a volunteer’s inbox, so swap the [at] back to @ before you send.
• Banquet / Meeting / Other upcoming: events on PF’s national calendar. Each one links to the official event page, which has tickets, the venue, and the agenda.
• Sorting: click any column header to sort that table. The Banquet column sorts by date.

The count, by state

333 of 345 chapters list a named contact with an email. Only 44 have a banquet on the national calendar right now, and only 2 posted meetings show up across all seven states. Most chapters announce meetings by email list, Facebook, or word of mouth at the co-op, not on PF’s calendar. If you want the meeting schedule, email the contact listed. That’s what the address is for.

Banquet season is how chapters pay for habitat. You buy the ticket, the money comes back as seed, trees, and acres of habitat contracts. These are the 44 banquets on PF’s calendar for the seven states, earliest first. “Sold out” means sold out. Check the event page before you get in the truck.

Posted chapter meetings

That short list is the honest count. Meetings are where the work gets assigned: habitat days, youth hunt volunteers, the banquet committee. Ask the chapter contact when the next one is. Most chapters will be glad you asked.

Beyond the seven states

PF’s finder feed holds 724 records in total: 713 US chapters, 5 Canadian chapters, the Iowa State Council, and a demo listing. The other US chapters run from Ohio and Illinois to Texas and California, and many are Quail Forever chapters in bobwhite country. We started with the seven states this site covers because that’s where the roosters and the readers are. The same official feed would support a nationwide directory later. Until then, PF’s Find a Chapter map searches any ZIP code or two-letter state code.

How to actually plug in

1. Join Pheasants Forever. Membership is how the habitat, the banquets, and the youth hunts stay funded. Click here to join Pheasants Forever on their official membership page. Prefer bobwhite country? Join Quail Forever the same way. (Pheasant Directory is independent and not affiliated with either organization — those links go straight to their sites.)
2. Email the contact. Introduce yourself in a sentence, ask when the next meeting is, and ask what they need. It’s usually volunteers for a habitat day or a youth hunt.
3. Buy a banquet ticket. PF says its chapters keep 100 percent decision-making control over their locally raised funds. The money from your ticket gets spent on habitat in your own county. Go for the habitat and stay for the gun raffle.
4. Show up for the youth hunt. Several of the events above are mentored or youth hunts timed to state youth seasons. Dates and age rules are in Youth Pheasant Seasons in the Midwest.
5. No chapter nearby? PF’s finder has a “Not a Chapter in Your Area?” contact link. New chapters do get started. This list includes a few first-year banquets.

Data notes

• Snapshot: 2026-10-05. The 345 chapters come from the official Find a Chapter directory, and the 179 nationwide events come from PF’s events calendar. Banquets and meetings were matched to chapters by the exact chapter name on each event.
• Phones: not shown. PF’s public finder doesn’t display chapter phone numbers, so we don’t either.
• Websites: PF’s finder has no chapter website for any chapter in this set, so each state links to the official finder instead.
• Banquet / meeting = TBD: the chapter has nothing posted on the national calendar. Many chapters hold spring banquets and announce them in winter, so check back.
• Corrections: if you run a chapter and something’s wrong, fix it in PF’s systems. That’s the source. We’ll pick it up on the next refresh.
